Foster
Ten dogs at one address is a kennel.
Pasco County treats ten or more dogs at one property as a large kennel. This rescue is foster-based because it has to be. Agricultural land in unincorporated Pasco does not make a facility.
Why fosters matter here.
William P. Fields and his family already live with Great Danes. The rescue cannot keep stacking dogs on one property and call it intake. A foster home is not extra credit. It is the only legal, honest way to take the next Dane.
There is no kennel building to send the dog back to at five o’clock. If you foster, the dog is in your house until we place them or we make another plan together.
What we ask.
- A house or a yard you can actually manage a giant dog in. A six-foot fence helps. Honest management helps more.
- Food, water, shade, and a place to lie down that is not a concrete run.
- Transport to the vet when we schedule it. Danes do not fold into a sedan the way a terrier does.
- Photos and a straight message when something is wrong. Bloat does not wait for office hours.
- Florida: the dog will be sterilized before adoption. Foster is not a workaround.
- Time. Weeks or months. We will not promise a weekend.
If that is you, say where you live, what animals you already have, and whether you can take an adult. Puppies are not the default.
